The Hydrological Balance in Micro-Watersheds Is Affected by Climate Change and Land Use Changes

Temperate forests are key to the balance and provision of hydrological environmental services. Currently, these subject human alterations as well effects global change, including warming, variability, deforestation, forest fires. As a consequence, has been modified. The present study simulates climate change land use on micro-watersheds in Mexico using model Water Evaluation Planning (WEAP). between 1995 2021 was estimated establish baseline. Climate scenario SSP585 projected three models, MPI-ESM1-2-LR, HadGEM3-GC31-LL, CNRM-CM6-1 by 2081–2100 horizon, along with two scenarios change: one permanence another loss cover increased Results indicate that future climatic conditions will modify at microbasin level. Even positive permanence, increases surface runoff 124% (CNRM), 35% (HadGEM3), 13% (MPI) expected. projections coverage fires showed 338% 188% 143% (MPI). In high areas microbasins where temperate predominates, variations could be contained.
